Thinking of where we can make the most of the breezy weather? Mhmmm. To the beaaaccchhhh!!!
Riding our trusty purple family jeep, we found ourselves heading to the silent and secluded corner of Bogo, the laidback beach of Odlot. Yes, I must admit, we've been here so many times that I've lost count.. But this beach just offers a different flavor every time we set off on another beach getaway.
One of the reasons why our family loves this humble beach so much is its simplicity and serenity. Unlike other beaches here in the North, Odlot Beach doesn't have the famous white sand but it has a unique sand of its own that is mixed with tiny corals and shells. And when you look around, you'll see that the beach has no big resorts or any developments, so it's just nature, the fresh air, and the happy people who are 100% enjoying their time on the beach.
The cottages are very humble and rustic, making them a very budget-friendly getaway for families like ours. Each cottage only costs 150 pesos for a whole day use. And since the beach is located downhill, most part of the beach has no Network Connection/ Service Provider, making everyone who comes to the beach fully immersed in the moment. And this is one thing I truly love about the beach. It's off connection with the virtual world and the way it pulls someone into nature's beautiful power.
Eating time!
Personally, what I also love about this beach are the docked fishing boats of the locals. It's just so heartwarming to see them lined up waiting to go ashore. For me, they are like soldiers facing the sea, waiting for their owners to take them and sail them in the ocean.
And here's the bonus part: if the weather is windy, Odlot beach levels up to a little adventure. Its waves get big enough to rock the swimmers!. It's not common to experience these big, playful waves on the beaches near my hometown, so experiencing this in Odlot feels like another level. It's just a great feeling to simply stand on the sea and let the waves take the wheel, rocking our bodies! Oh! The kids love it so much! It's a two-in-one treat, getting a massage while swimming! Haha!
Not to mention the coconut trees that seem to compete with each other to see who will be the tallest. Maybe the tallest one would win the best seat in the house, getting the grandest view of the beach far away.Haha. Just my wild imagination.
These are just the laid-back features of the beach that we are in love with, but on top of it all, it's the pure experience we always get every time we go to Odlot beach. Its relaxed atmosphere, simplicity, and charm always bring us closer together.
If asked if I would go back to the beach? Definitely, definitely a hundred times coming!
