Hey everyone! π I'm thrilled to pull back the curtain and share the creative process behind my latest NFT piece, 'Subterranean Stream.' It's always fascinating to look back at how a concept evolves, and this one was quite a journey from a simple line i drew on MediBang paint pro.
Stage 1: The Blueprint - Where it All Began
Every journey begins with a single step, and for 'Subterranean Stream,' it started right here: a basic line drawing. This initial sketch was my first attempt to visualize a deep, flowing tunnel, a pathway unseen. From these concentric circles, I began to build the layers and the sense of perspective I envisioned. It's fascinating how a concept truly evolves from just a few lines.
Stage 2: Setting the Mood with Base Colors
Next, I started laying down the foundational colors. My aim was to establish a rich, almost ethereal atmosphere for the tunnel walls. These early fills began to define the depth and overall mood of the 'subterranean' environment, hinting at the mystery within.
Stage 3: Defining the Flow β Adding the 'Water'
This was a pivotal step where the concept of the 'stream' truly came to life. I introduced the contrasting blue/purple hues for the lower section, imagining the dynamic body of water flowing through the tunnel. This established the core dichotomy and visual flow that would be central to the piece.
Stage 4: Adding Abstract Elements & Depth
Here's where the piece started to take on its unique, abstract character. I experimented with vibrant pink and purple tones, adding intricate, swirling lines and organic, bubble-like shapes. These elements were designed to create a sense of energy, and the fantastical nature of the 'stream' within the tunnel. I might have just been playing with the tone curve like a baby who's just discovered he can hold a spoon after that. You know what I meanπ
The Final Transformation: 'Subterranean Stream'
Finally, after my weird play on the tone curve and rbg profile, I just compiled all the image I managed to save while doing that into the one 'Subterranean Stream' that I was able to make.
This journey from a simple sketch to the final is what makes digitalart so rewarding.
I hope you like it.
