This beetle knows how to pick the nicest flower and the best color for it to blend so that it won't get caught that easily by the predator, as well as the humans if they want to get rid of them.

I found this beetle on the land orchid that we have in the garden. The flowers usually last very long, with lovely color and shape,e despite not being able to produce a nice fragrance, but it is still nice to have them in the yard, especially when they bloom.

But this beetle is one of the pests that already wreaks havoc on the orchids. My mother said that this little guy is the one that usually ruins the flower, reducing its blooming time by eating the flower petals.

That makes sense because the day after I took the photos of this beetle, I noticed that some of the petals are already torn with bite-like markings. I could have prevented them from happening by killing this beetle after I took the photos, but I was stupid enough to let it go, hmmm actually to flew away running away from my pinch because I was too busy photographing and wanted to get a better angle. Just like most of the time I took the photos, this insect felt disturbed and then flew away.
