As humans, we most times get to that point when we see and feel incapable of doing something well, even though we have always believed that we can do that particularly thing so well even when we are asked to do it while sleeping. At that point when we feel incapable, we begin to realize that it might actually not by our power or because of how good we think we are. We only end up realizing this a little late but until we can fully grasp the reality that it is not by our efforts we are where we are today, we won’t get the peace and joy we seek for.
I have seen and heard people believe so much in their own strength, wisdom and courage getting them to the point they are today. They always believe that it was because they had sleepless nights, because they were always working hard and doing other things that’s why they got to where they are but they forget that time and chance happens to us all. It is only because God has allowed us get to where we are, that’s why we have the ability to even think it was by our strength. I have seen some who work their bones out, do all the things possible even better than most successful people do today but they are still struggling.
Understanding the fact that we are not the ones in charge ultimately will help us find peace and joy. The only reason why it’s so hard for you to find peace and the happiness you seek for is because you still rely on yourself for the things you need even when you can’t give those things to yourself. Putting in the work is good and all but if you don’t recognize the fact that it is still not by your strength alone, you might have to learn that later and look at yourself and laugh.
I have achieved so much in life but then I always see it as nothing and keep wanting more. I keep wanting more based on the fact that I think it is by how strong and determined I am. Until I finally recognize God’s grace over my life, it was then I started seeing things differently and I have been enjoying the peace that supersedes human understanding. I know a lot of persons look at me and think I’m hardworking and determined but I tell you this, it is all because of God’s grace upon me. My worries keep reducing by the day and it is because I have to acknowledge the one who is truly in charge.
You don’t have to accept God’s sovereignty over you but deep down, we all know that there is someone who has made us and not we ourselves. We are only a living proof that he is. Even for those that struggle to accept his majesty, they are still a living proof that there is God and his words are truth. Stop trying to do it by your power, you might succeed but it won’t be fulfilling. You won’t enjoy the peace and satisfaction as much as when you recognize God’s grace upon you.
