Today I’m excited to share this session we did featuring "Elegante/Fancy" — the name of this beautiful horse we often work with when clients request it.
I really enjoy this type of photoshoot, although I have to say, it’s definitely not easy 😳.
Keeping the subject calm can be a challenge — even if they love the idea, it's a whole different story when they’re standing so close to the horse. And as for the horse, no matter how well-trained he is, he doesn’t exactly follow directions like "now look to the right for the camera."😆
On top of that, we often have to use artificial lighting because the sun is usually quite harsh at that time of day, and we want to avoid hard shadows.
So you end up with a wonderfully chaotic scene: people and animals moving around, giving and receiving instructions, adjusting things — all to create images that look peaceful and serene. Trust me, the behind-the-scenes is anything but calm!
But we wanted to capture the feeling of calm and strength that man and horse evoke, side by side in complicity and trust.
