This week’s RUNE chart looks strong—bullish momentum has returned. After climbing steadily from $1.20 to just under $1.40, we’ve seen a bit of volatility, but the trend is clearly pointing upward. Could this be the beginning of a bigger move?

All eyes are now on May 5th: the official launch date for TCY, Thorchain’s new debt token. Every recognized debt holder will receive 1 TCY for each dollar owed, and TCY will launch at an initial price of $0.10. More importantly, TCY holders will receive 10% of protocol revenues—paid out daily in RUNE.

This is no small shift. It marks the beginning of revenue sharing on Thorchain and adds a new utility layer to RUNE: as TCY rewards are paid in RUNE, demand could increase significantly. Whether this is already priced in or will hit after the launch remains to be seen.
