Overview
Today I brought a Wild Ranked battle, where the ruleset will allow the use only melee attack monsters, which will require a bit of thinking how to build a good lineup and take advantage of the current ruleset! ๐
My upcoming Battle ruleset(s)
Ruleset | Description |
---|---|
Super Sneak | All Melee attack Monsters have the Sneak ability. |
Up Close & Personal | Only Monsters with Melee attack may be used in battles. |
Heavy Hitters | All Monsters have the Knock Out ability. |
The mana cap for my next battle was 49, which is quite good to pick anything that I like and try to build a good lineup against my opponent. ๐
The Up Close & Personal ruleset will eliminate the use of all the ranged and magic attack monsters, so only Melee attack monsters will be available to choose from. Luckily the Super Sneak ruleset will give the Sneak ability to all the monsters on the battlefield, which means that all the melee attack monsters will be able to attack from anywhere in the lineup and they have to target the last monster from the enemy team. ๐ช
The Heavy Hitters ruleset will give the Knock Out ability to the monsters as well and that means that they will deal double damage if their target is Stunned. It is a good advice to bring monsters with the Stun abilit, but usually they are quite high levelled monsters. ๐
My lineup
|My plan was to use Franz Ruffmane, becasuse he gives +1 armor to his monsters and also he is one of the highest levelled Summoner that I have. He is also able to bring one additional Gladiator monster into this battle, which is always a nice addition to any team. ๐|
|The Drybone Barbarian is an excellent tank and even thought he doesn't have any kind of defensive ability he has a lot of offensive ones. He has high melee attack damage and speed, which is always amazing. On top of that he has the Retaliate ability as well, which means that if an enemy melee attacker hits him he will have 50% chance to get a free attack against that monster. His Enrage ability is also good, because if he is going to get damaged he will have his stats increased by 50%. ๐|
|
|
|Tatiana Blayde is a Gladiator monster and such she has the Bloodlust ability, which means that she is able to increase all of her stats if she manages to kill her target. She also has two different kind of attack and one of them is melee, so that is why I was able to bring her into this battle even though her other attack is ranged. ๐
|
|The Gargoya Scrapper is just a filler for this battle, because he has the Void ability and that is worthless in this fight. He cost only one mana and has +1 melee attack and that is why I picked him. ๐|
|
|
|The Drybone Raider also has two different kind of attack like my Tatiana, but on top of that he also has the Double Strike ability, which means that he will attack four times (two each) with his attacks. He has the Shatter ability as well, so if he deals any damage to his target he will destroy all of their remaining armor. ๐|
|The Disintegrator is a must have if you have the Up Close & Personal ruleset, because he has the Demoralize ability, which means that all the melee attack monsters from the enemy team will have their melee attack reduced by one. ๐ค|
|
|
|I used the Chaos Knight as a backline protector, because all the enemy monsters will target him. I picked him, because he has the Shield ability, which means that he will halves all the incoming melee attack from the enemy team. ๐|
The Battle

My opponent brought Helios Matriarch who is a Dragon Summoner and she is able pick any Melee attack Dragon monster if she wanted to do. She is able to give +1 speed to all of her friendly monsters and able to use one additional Gladiator monster as well. ๐
In the first round all of the monsters on the battlefield (except the tanks) started attacking the last monster from the enemy team and luckily my team killed their Skyspire Leopard and even their Disintegrator got some damage just before the first round finished! ๐
The second round started a bit unlucky, because their Barbarian was lucky enough to be able to get a free attack from his Retaliate ability and such he killed mine, but at least my Tatiana managed to take a revenge on him and killed him. With this kill she was able to activate her Bloodlust ability and all of her stats were increased by one.
My Raider used his Double Strike ability to kill their Disintegrator, which gave back our lost melee attacks. Their Dumacke Orc had a lot of armor and only one health, so it was the perfect victim for my Raider's Shatter ability, which removed all of his armor and was able to kill him easily. ๐ช
In the third round I have lost my Chaos Knight and he did an excellent job sustaining a lot of incoming damage. It was very difficult to hit their Marisol, because he had seven speed and he dodged quite a lot of our attacks and it took three full rounds to kill him after the countless missed attacks.
By the time my team killed him Tatiana also killed their Imperial Knight and my team won the battle for me. ๐ค
Battle Result
Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?
My strategy worked perfectly, because the Chaos Knight at the end of my lineup soaked a lot of damage and in the meantime my team started killing their monsters from the back, because their Leopard didn't have too much defensive abilities.
Luckily my opponent also put their Disintegrator just before the Leopard, so as soon as my team killed their Leopard they were able to kill him as well and get back the lost melee attack, which made my team even stronger. ๐
