Hello Splinter warriors,

Do you know, Splinterlands launched back in 2018 and in the realm of cryptocurrency, 7 years is a pretty long timeframe for a project that is not only surviving but thriving over time. In the past years, Splinterlands has gone through many ups and downs, but has only emerged stronger and those who stuck with the project since its launch witnessed it all. Currently, Splinterlands is making quite some hype again with the pre-sale of the upcoming core edition cardset named Conclave Arcana and if you browse through Hive posts or discord server, everyone is talking only about this topic - sharing their plans or showing their purchases or just wildly guessing what would they receive upon opening the packs when the general sale kicks in. Now, for me, normally, I am not a pack opening guy, and I would rather focus on finding good deals on the market or P2P trades and prefer to buy cards directly. But this time, Conclave Arcana, the upcoming edition, has cast some spell upon me and made me execute my largest purchase in Splinterlands to date. In today’s post, I will be talking about this ongoing presale, my participation and what I may win from the presale rewards. So, if you are also interested in presale, let's take a dive without any further ado.

CA Presale

If we visit the presale page on the official Splinterlands website, the first thing we will see is the countdown to remind us that the presale will not last forever and once it ends, there will be no second chances. Right now, as I am writing this post, only around 13 days and 22 hours are left for this presale to end and I guess those who were planning to buy packs in the presale have already made their purchases. Now indeed some are still waiting for the SPS to DEC swap fees to go down, so that they can burn large amounts of SPS for DEC and buy packs and gladly, the recent DAO proposal to reduce fees from 2.5% to 0.5% has also passed with flying colour, so we are expected to see the change anytime soon. But anyway, I didn't wait for it and have already swapped some of my SPS for DEC already when SPS was trading near its recent high, around 0.0125 per unit, thus I have made some overall gain than what I would get with a lowered fee but lower current price as well. But that doesn't change much in my case because I have only burned 16k SPS and mostly used my HBD savings balance to buy most of the DEC.

SPS to DEC Swap

Moving on, let us now take a look at the ongoing presale stats and first of all, till now, a total of 128,039 packs have been sold via the presale event and the total number of DEC and credits spent on the presale till now stands at a whopping 965,444,000. Now, credits are already pegged at 1000 credits per dollar and DEC is also trading around 0.97 - 0.98$ per 1000 DEC, which is almost near its soft pegged value of 1$ per 1000 DEC. So, if we consider DEC at pegged value, almost 1 Million USD of sales have already happened in Presale, which is an amazing achievement as the presale has only started 5 days ago. Now having another almost 2 whole weeks in hand, I strongly believe the total sale number will be way above the current one. There are still many investors gathering money and planning strategies and forming groups to buy packs in bulk in order to increase their chances of getting more rewards from the presale events.

Different Packs and their Stats

Unlike all the previous presale events where we could only buy 1 type of booster pack, starting with the Conclave Arcana edition, Splinterlands has introduced not one or two but 3 new types of booster packs. Apart from the standard booster pack, they have crafted 3 new and more customised booster packs - Legendary Packs, Alchemy Packs and Starter Packs. While the Starter pack will not be available in the pre-sale and will be available in the general sale, let us see the other 3 packs along with their current sale stats.

Standard Packs

The Standard Booster packs cost only 4000 Credits or DEC per pack and inside, you will find a set of 5 BCX Conclave Arcana cards with at least 1 card being Rare or higher rarity. The mechanism of Standard packs remains the same, and investment wise, they provide decent value without taking much risk. Now, looking at sale stats, out of the total 500k standard packs that were allocated for Presale, only 416,803 packs are left, so more than 73k Standard packs have already been sold.

Alchemy Packs

This new type of pack has just been introduced to Splinterlands with the Conclave Arcana edition and each pack costs 12,000 Credits or DEC. Alchemy packs also possess 5 BCX cards, with at least 1 card being rare or higher rarity. But in addition to that, with Alchemy packs, 1 card will be guaranteed Gold foil in each of these packs. Now, looking at its sales stats, there were a total of 100k Alchemy packs allocated for presale and out of them, only 63,306 packs are available, so more than 36k packs have been sold already.

Legendary Packs

Another new type of pack that got introduced with the Conclave Arcana edition is the Legendary pack and this is the costliest pack of all. It takes 24,000 Credits or DEC to buy a Legendary pack. The advantage of buying a legendary pack over a standard pack is that every Legendary pack contains 1 guaranteed legendary card.

My Contribution

Now, looking at my own stats in the presale, I have purchased just after the presale went live and bought a total of 834 Alchemy packs for a total of 10 million and 8 thousand DEC and gladly, I am currently standing at the 20th position of the presale leaderboard. For this big buy, I actually grouped up with one of my Splinterlands friends and decided to invest 50% each and buy a bulk amount of packs to win something awesome out of the presale. We were all ready before the presale and executed the purchase as soon as the presale went live. The reason behind buying all alchemy packs and not touching the other 2 packs is just one - I am in love with the new Black Foil and Archon Foil Cards and the best chance to get your hands on them is through alchemy packs. As stated in he official announcement post, alchemy packs hold the highest chance of receiving a black foil card, which is 1 in every 80 packs. So, for 834 packs, I can expect to get at least 10 Black foil cards. But, it's just an educated assumption and how many I will get, well let’s find out on May 13th.

I hope you enjoyed reading my post about the ongoing Conclave Arcana Presale and about my participation. Please let me know your thoughts about CA in the comments section below, and I look forward to seeing you all in my next post.
