...and so, come and let me show you how brave the birds are.

Mankind and wild birds were working together in a daring partnership.

The birds are Egrets, and I think that they have discovered, many years ago, that the machines working in the lands are great feeding opportunities. Birds are very intelligent, and even at dangerous odds, they will depend on their agility and speed to avoid certain death. What took place here was that the birds knew that the machine would disturb the land's surface, and they were prepared to face the odds in order to get to the insects and the worms that are unearthed during the process.
Almost like dicing with certain death, but they are brave.

A lovely and mild autumn day, as the glare of the harsh summer sun has been tamed by the fall season.

As the machine came closer, I thought that the birds would scatter and fly out of the way, but not so as you will see below.

Look at that. The guy at the front and the other one next to the wheel seemed to be getting out of the way, but the one at the right was a real stunt actor.

The machine was almost on top of the bird, and the blade of the machine would mean certain death, if it caught the bird.

At the very last moment, the bird popped out of the way.

In the meantime, the flock gathered behind the machine to feed on the disturbed surface of the land. The reason why I post in the photography-lovers community is that I am simply a photography lover. It also offers me a great opportunity to combine my photos with stories, as at times I have a wild imagination, and a dosage of humor can also work wonders. I am a member of the South African Photographic Society, and it helps a lot as some people here view a guy with a camera very suspiciously.

We are also lovers of nature, and I am forever trying to show the beauty of nature with my photos. Not only nature, as we also have the Atlantic Ocean close by, as well as a range of other interesting subjects that serve photographers very well. The good thing about this is that the variances of subjects in the posts will alleviate the same old, same old, boring routine.
Such is life.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.
