...and of course nature has the answer.
Have a look at the Heron's sleepy eye. Normally they are wide open, but not on this occasion.
We had to go to a different area as there is a chemist that had some great bargains on sale, and we were hoping that they also had some discounts on the tablets that I have to take every day. The nice thing is, next to the building is a dam and while the wife was inside, I waited outside with my camera as usual. Shopping and I are not mates, never have been and never will be. I'm allergic to little kids screaming and racing about between the aisles with shopping trolleys. Not only that, but I also don't like to feel crowded.
Come and see what I got.
A weak autumn sun and a breezy cool wind that can make anyone feel tired.
Let's watch the Heron slowly drifting into a nice nap.
Yep! I could almost hear him snore. Lol.
As a line break, I am showing you a Coot baby.

Back home mister Southern Double-collared Sunbird was also in a hurry.
Pecking around all over the place.
Landed on this Honeysuckle flower for some nectar.
Finally, had a drink, and then he was gone.
Nature has a way with the things that I see, that remind me of our human habits. I am one of those that cannot sleep when it is daylight, and a nap is a foreign thing for me, as I have never had a nap. So, maybe nature had a message for me by showing me a heron taking a nap.
But then again, that little sunbird's actions told me a different message. In younger days, I was just as active as that little bird, rushing all over the show, but now in my old age that fire that burned within me seems to be flickering exactly the same as that weak autumn sun.
Such is life.
I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.
