Hello and welcome back to my blog!

It has been a long time since I shared anything about our Survival world in the Luanti (formerly Minetest) engine. The game server has been hosted by @neoxian for a long time. It is an open-source project aiming to create a similar gaming experience to the popular sandbox game Minecraft. I am a long-time fan of this sandbox game, so Luanti feels like home to me.

There are some minor changes and visual changes. Of course, you will not get the same smooth gameplay, but comparing a multi-billion-dollar project to a small open-source project is not a fair comparison. Anyways, let me share with you the updates in our village.

Many people are busy building big mansions and trading halls while I was still living in a dirt hole with loads of unorganised chests with all kind of crap in it. You have two options at this point: a) clean up the mess and start organising, or b) invite your gf to fix the mess.

And there is only one correct option. xD

I invited @bemier so we can play together and she can help me organise more things efficiently. That spawn area is still not safe at all @mathewdaddywah. We were struggling to get out of the range of the army of mobs. Skeletons have good aim, and they have almost no delay when they shoot.

Once we were safe and it was daytime, I took her to my stone hole/hut and showed her all the things I hoarded there. I gave her a small tour of the city. We went out looking for a suitable place to build, and @shrazi permitted us to build next to his big place. I loved your walls, bro. Sadly, I didn't take any pictures of it, so I can't share it with you.

We also borrowed some Spruce saplings and started growing our forest. One thing where she excels is chopping down trees and converting them into precious emeralds. Thanks to @protokkol's trading hall having many fletchers who take sticks, it makes us buy a Fortune III book.

With an iron fortune III enchanted pickaxe, we started mining for resources. We were looking for anything and everything. Stones, coal, iron, gold, diamond, whatever comes our way. But we just used the enchanted pickaxe for important ores like iron, gold or diamonds.

We got lucky too, and found some diamonds fairly quickly. Even mined a rare emerald, but these seem to be very rare or spawning in just some biomes.

We even found a mineshaft under our base. It was a big one too, but sadly, a bit too high, and that's why there were no diamonds generated there.

Remember those diamonds that we found? Well, turns out a creeper jumped on us and blew us up, killing both of us in the explosion. I saw the diamonds go into the lava. Whoops! That was tragic, especially because most of our items didn't go into the lava, but all 12 or so diamonds went in.

With that setback, we decided to go back to what we know best. Chopping down trees and trading them for emeralds. Soon, we had a double chest full of Spruce logs ready to be sold for shiny emeralds.

The cooldown on the trades doesn't allow us to sell everything at once, so we had to wait for the villagers to restock their inventory. This was the only thing that was slowing us down.

We still haven't decided what type of building we are looking to build in the future. We just experimented with the wall design to see which type of walls and doors we can have to secure our area. But a large wall is going to take a lot of blocks, and we will be mining a lot more in the coming days to meet those needs. At the same time, we are periodically buying better armour and tools from the traders. You can see us fully covered in diamond armour with some shiny diamond tools now.

Thanks for reading...

Until next time...
