From Yoga mat to Punching Bag - You’re beautiful, now pass the gloves!

Summer is coming! (Ok, not really... but almost.) Time for short t-shirts, short pants, and short patience. 😂And guess what? All I hear at work (especially from my girl co-workers) is: "Omg, I need to start working out! I need my perfect summer body!"
I always tell them: “Why are you stressing??You're already beautiful, seriously!”
Stop saying "I have to lose weight because of summer and bikinis and the sea!"
Like... do you stress like this in winter? Nooo. So that means you only wanna look "perfect" for other people? Giiiiirl, STOP.

You lived through so much.
Life, work, kids, stress, heartbreaks, wins — ALL OF IT.
And now you think you need to look like an Instagram model just to lay on a beach?!
NOPE. You already brought so much beauty into this world. You ARE beautiful. Full stop. 💕

But wait, it gets better...They don't even want to exercise. Nope.
Just starving themselves — drinking water, nibbling on a carrot like a sad little bunny. We keep telling them: "If you lose weight super fast, it comes back even faster, like a boomerang!" But do they listen?Of course not.

We talk about this all the time — me and the girls — and always say:
"Why not just work out a little? Eat normally. Be strong. Be happy." But the answer is always: "I don't have time." 🙄

So now... I just shut up. Let them do what they want. I'm not the right person to preach anyway...I'm not working out all the time either. 😅 I love yoga, and I love riding my bike...
But trust me...if you're not strong, that bike will DESTROY you in 5 minutes. Been there. Complained about it. 😂

So what's the point of my rant? Yoga is GREAT for me... but I needed something to build strength too.

Luckily, a few years ago, my husband bought me a punching bag stand.
(Probably because he was tired of me punching his poor shoulders.) 😂

I was SO happy.Yoga calms you down... but sometimes you just have that crazy energy and need to SMASH something — not because you're mad — just because it's fun! 😂

So I started boxing like a maniac, music blasting, dripping sweat, living my best life...

AND THEN...
One day, while I was punching like Rocky Balboa, music on full blast...
DING DONG.
Someone rings the doorbell.
I’m thinking: “Who the hell is that? I look like a wet mop right now." 😂

It was my neighbor.
Super polite... but also dying inside...
“Can you maybe... pleaaaase... stop the noise? We hear everything..."
(Oops. We lived on the top floor. I forgot sound travels... sorryyyy. 😅)

I felt so bad, I stopped.
Couldn’t even sneak in a workout because I never knew if they were home.
Sad times. 😭

BUT THEN...
We moved to a ground floor apartment!! FINALLY...no neighbors under me!
Bag is on the terrace now — FREEDOM!
WUHUUUU!! 🎉

Last month, after healing my arm, I started again, and OMG... so happy!

But listen...too much is not good either. I do 20 minutes max, 3 times a week. Balance, baby. 😉

Wanna know how my workout looks? LET’S GOOOO! 🚀

Step 1: Warm-up first or cry later.

7 minutes of yoga stretching (pretend you're a flexible cat)

15 sit-ups (abs of steel... or maybe rubber)

5 push-ups (literally surviving)

2x30 sec jumping jacks (flap around like you're on fire 🔥)

NOW YOU'RE A WARRIOR.

ROUND 1 (3 min): Dance fight!

Light punches, dance around like you're at a party, giggle. Feet never stop moving! 🕺

ROUND 2 (3 min): Jab attack!

Left jab, right jab, nonstop for 20 sec, rest 10 sec. x5
Pretend the bag stole your fries. 🍟

ROUND 3 (4 min): Power punch!

BIG hooks, right-left! 15 sec punching like crazy, 15 sec walk around looking tough.
Repeat 4 times. (No mercy.)

ROUND 4 (3 min): duck & bop!

2 punches

Duck low (like a pie is flying at your face) 🥧

2 punches

Duck again

Bonus points for making "pew pew" sounds while ducking.

ROUND 5 (3 min): Speed slaps!

Open hands! Slap the bag as fast as you can for 15 sec, rest 15 sec. x6
Laugh your butt off...it counts as cardio! 😂

ROUND 6 (3 min): Shadowboxing drama!

Step back, pretend you're in a movie fight scene. Jump, spin, punch the air, be dramatic!
Win an imaginary Oscar. 🎥🏆

COOL DOWN: Victory lap

Walk in slow motion around the bag like you just won a championship. Raise your hands up, nod seriously, high-five the bag. Deep breaths in… deep breaths out… You’re a legend! And for the end...drop in child’s pose. Lay there. Regret everything. Then feel amazing.

That’s it!

I'm still not in perfect shape — will take time —but HEY...trying + crying from muscle pain = SUCCESS. 😉
